Winning the kitty over!

Well, it looks as though Madias' hard work and perseverance in making the cat his friend, has finally payed off.

For the past month or so, Madias has spent at least 10 minutes everyday slowly aproching the sleeping cat, and trying to get her to snuggle with him. Each day he got closer and closer to his goal. The only problem was he would sometimes lose his amazing restraint, and bark in the cats face...That didn't go over too well.

But I'm happy to announce that this morning I followed Madias upstairs to find the cat and him happily cuddled up taking a nap. Let's hope he doesn't sleep bark and the friendship lasts :]

Will post about Madias' new adventures soon! He's now allowed on public outings so I'm sure I'll have lots to share.

Good Morning from Madias!

Hi Everyone!

I'm trying to get these posts up more often, so that I can have lots of short ones instead of a few big ones!

Madias' mornings...

Madias wakes up and heads outside to "Hurry". He comes in, eats his breakfast, and gives me a nice, sweet, calm morning greeting. But then.. he goes upstairs...

Being the only puppy in the house Madias naturally finds it his duty to be the alarm clock for the house. He runs upstairs sounding like a stampede and proceeds to run up and down the halls BARKING HIS HEAD OFF to ensure the whole family is aware of this bright new day that has come. Once he is sure everyone has been informed of this extremely important statement of his, he flings himself on my parents bed to take a nap. Isn't being a puppy just so exhausting??

Yeah, we're gonna have to work on some manners with this funny little quirk of his ;]

And that's Madias' mornings. No time for anymore now, it sounds like someone didn't wake up yet and he's off to round two of alarm clock duty :/

More to come later!

LONG OVER-DUE MADIAS AND NICO UPDATE

Hi everyone!

Well Madias is a big 5 month old now!!!!!!!!!! As a lot of you know it's about time to start public outings. We're just waiting on the big boy cape :]

In the last few months Madias has grown so much in both size and maturity. We've been working really hard on advancing his commands and making him all around a more polite and well-behaved pup. He's doing great with it! His "Heel" and "Side" commands are almost perfect :]

During CCI's Feb Team Training, we spent a great deal of time at CCI. Watching all the "big dogs" work was great for Madias! He picked up on a lot of really good behaviors and seriously grew up so much in those two weeks. Now that we're back home I've had to try and be a bit more active in our regular life-style because he got so used to all the constant working he did!

As for Nico, he is now officially a 2nd semester Advanced Training dog!! This means he's beginning to advance even further in his formal training. He'll be working on things like retrieving items, opening/closing doors, and turning lights on/off. He'll have to learn these things while having his handler sitting in a wheelchair at times as well.

As far as his reports go. They look pretty good. I'm really proud of him and have high hopes for him. :]

Hoping for the best for both my boys! Nico in AT, and Madias in oh-so-crazy-puppyhood!
